As 2026 approaches, we reflect on a year shaped by geopolitical tensions and liberal democracies faced with new pressure points. The ongoing wars and humanitarian crises in Ukraine, the Middle East, and across South America, Asia, and Africa continue to challenge our rules-based world order; some drawing outrage in some countries and parts of societies, while others are met with a deafening silence across the board. We have seen renewed desire to bolster European security and political support for recalibrating NATO’s capabilities. In these challenging times, our values and worldviews are tested daily.

Yet amid these global headwinds, the holiday season offers a moment to pause and recognise the relationships and results that continue to propel our Firm forward.

2025 was a demanding year for the broader transactional market. Shifting global trade policies dampened deal activity, interest rates did not decline at a pace anticipated at the beginning of the year, and in some parts of the markets in which we operate, inflation remained difficult to combat. So investor sentiment turned cautious. Still, Moalem Weitemeyer continued to grow stronger together and deliver #NextLevel results. We welcomed new clients and advised on significant, complex transactions, including completing the largest M&A transaction ever done by a Danish company. Our Disputes & Investigations team continued its strong trajectory, resolving major contentious matters and reinforcing our position as a trusted advisor to our corporate and private equity clients. We are grateful that our work was again recognised with another Tier 1 ranking in Corporate/M&A, alongside recognitions for several of our teams and individuals. To our clients and business partners: thank you. Your trust, collaboration, and confidence in our advice have been central to every achievement.

As defence and cybersecurity have become central topics, we are committed to being Denmark’s legal lighthouse in this space. In September, we launched the very first Nordic Defence & Cybersecurity Seminar in Copenhagen in collaboration with three leading Nordic law firms. It was a truly remarkable day and a strong platform for knowledge-sharing on issues that matter to clients and to the Nordic countries.

The Firm also grew with exceptional new talent. We welcomed Partner Esben Kjær, significantly strengthening our capabilities within energy transition and infrastructure assignments. From our own ranks, we welcomed Thomas Enevoldsen and Simon Winther Bjerregaard as Partners. Both outstanding lawyers in their respective fields of Corporate/M&A and Real Estate M&A, whose professionalism and leadership qualities are recognised by clients and colleagues alike. We were equally pleased to welcome back several colleagues who decided to return to our Firm after time away. Another major milestone on our #NextLevel journey is the arrival of CEO Martin Kirkegaard, who brings deep leadership experience, financial insight, and transformation expertise. At the same time, Finn Schmidt steps down as CFO and transitions into a new role as Head of Partner Affairs. We are incredibly pleased that he will continue the journey with us.

Our sustainability commitment has also continued in 2025. We strengthened our long-standing support of 5 Skoler and JunkFood and contributed to Care4Burn, the Danish Childhood Cancer Foundation, Live and Let Live, Gruppen Paty, Human Practice Foundation, Keren Hayesod, and several community and youth sports initiatives, among others. These efforts are an integral reflection of who we are, and our impact must extend beyond advisory work as we remain committed to helping those in need and speaking up whenever fundamental freedoms are challenged.

Looking to 2026, we remain cautiously optimistic. We will continue to learn, adapt, and grow slowly. Just as we have with the rapid integration of AI into our work. The market will return, and we are ready when it does. Our #NextLevel strategy gives us direction. Our Lighthouse mentality gives us the framework. Our people give us the edge, and our culture ensures we keep raising the bar.

From all of us at Moalem Weitemeyer, we wish you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season and a new year filled with peace, hope and prosperity!
