From 1 July 2025, the United Kingdom is a party to the 2019 Hague Convention on the Recognition and Enforcement of Foreign Judgments, aiming to streamline cross-border enforcement in civil and commercial matters. Denmark, however, is not a party to the 2019 Convention, which means that English judgments in Denmark therefore will remain based on the 2005 Convention.

In this article, Partner Morten Krogsgaard and Associate Andjela Parezanovic outline what the UK’s accession means in practice for Denmark.
