21 December 2024, the Danish Parliament adopted two bills, L71 & L72, that amend the Danish Companies Act (in Danish “selskabsloven”) and the Danish Financial Statements Act (in Danish “årsregnskabsloven”) with the purpose of simplifying business regulations, encouraging entrepreneurship, and harmonizing certain reporting requirements regarding shareholder loans with international standards in order to better position Denmark as an attractive environment for international investments.

We have previously written about the proposed changes in a recent newsletter, which you can find here.

In this article, we will provide a brief summary of the main elements of the changes which will enter into force on 1 January 2025.
